Todd & Carrie Ann Rhodes Family

Dear Mom and Dad,

Phew! You’ve made it through the easy years! They say the next 50 years are the hardest to get through.

Expressing my feelings through words has never been my forte. I would rather throw you a party or make you a dinner to show you how I feel. But I will try.
Things your marriage has taught me (in no particular order):
·      Be partners
·      Cleaning the house has nothing to do with gender
·      Everyone has a part to play and a job to do
·      Counsel with each other
·      Support each other
·      Keeping covenants together makes a strong foundation
·      Make the Gospel THE priority
·      Be married (I actually learned that from Todd)
·      The kids will be okay
·      Be alone together sometimes
·      Lift where you stand and serve always
·      Answer the call
·      Never give batteries or pots or irons as gifts
I’m sure there is much more. I feel so much love for you, and that’s what I’m not good at translating into words. But words like security come close. Warm blanket. Rock solid.
Todd and I are grateful for your constant example. And I feel grateful that your marriage has been something I have always depended upon, and never stressed over. That is a gift parents can give their kids. You are beloved by your children. You are beloved to me.
Your eternally grateful,
Carrie Ann (& Todd & Oliver Kent & Charlotte Bonnie)
